On April 15-17, 2019, a workshop was held in Tbilisi, Georgia, within the framework of the project "Strengthening of Quality Infrastructure in the countries of Southern Caucasus". The program in the region is carried out by the German national metrology institute PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt).
The internationally accredited analytical laboratory “FDA Laboratory” LLC has also been invited to the workshop the purpose of which was to exchange about current developments in the field of quality infrastructure, challenges for the wine sector in the region, and best practices of implementation.
In the framework of the workshop, the director of the analytical laboratory “FDA Laboratory” LLC A. Hakobyan made a presentation, comprehensively presenting the achievements of the laboratory aimed at the development of winemaking, programs and activities implemented in the interests of Armenian winemakers, and also touched upon topics related to the requirements of the European market, the procedure for granting VI Certificate required for wine exports, etc.
A. Hakobyan concluded her speech by summing up the results of cooperation between the analytical laboratory “FDA Laboratory” LLC and PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt), and also presented statistics on the volume of wine exports in Armenia, which undoubtedly show that wine-making in Armenia is passing through a period of revival, expressing joy regarding the fact, that the analytical laboratory “FDA Laboratory” LLC is not only the part of this, but it is also a laboratory accredited for wine laboratory testing internationally.
Every year, the laboratory participates in the interlaboratory tests (PT, ILC) with more than 30 parameters of wine, that contributes to the development of a quality infrastructure system of the wine industry and is the best guarantee for the production of quality wine.
