New achievement of analytical laboratory "FDA Laboratory" LLC

Analytical laboratory “FDA Laboratory” LLC, remaining loyal to its multifunctional and innovative approaches, did another important step in developing new methods for determining hexavalent chromium.

 

Hexavalent chromium can be found in different mediums like soil and water as well in cement. Also it is used in different productions- steel, textile dyes, wood preservatives, leather processing as well in the galvanic chromium-plating, steel welding and etc. So, it is quite obvious that the risks of polluting the environment with hexavalent chromium are very high.

 

Hexavalent chromium is carcinogen and highly toxic substance and for that reason there are defined norms and standards and every country exercises special control over it. For example, in the United States the allowed concentration in the air is 5 mg/m3, while in Russia it is 1.5 mg/m3. The rapid development of effective ways in determining hexavalent chromium in different environments is quite actual.

 

Analytical laboratory “FDA Laboratory” LLC set goal and as a result was able to develop an appropriate method.

 

The works were carried out within the framework of the Armenian-Japanese joint project of building a water reservoir in Yeghvard. One of the most important aims of the project was to monitor the hexavalent chromium percentage in the cement concrete ground and in the water entering the reservoir from the dam.

 

The accuracy of the acquired method and accuracy of the test results on the same samples were also confirmed in Japan by other different analysis.

 

This means that the method developed by analytical laboratory “FDA Laboratory” LLC can successfully be applied in relevant fields.
